The 2013 EMITT (East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel) Fair set a new record with total 131.000 visitors including 58.920 tourism professionals and 72.080 holidaymakers from Turkey and the world.
The Director of Ekin Fair, Hacer Aydın states that EMITT is one of the world’s top five largest tourism fairs according to the number of exhibitors and visitors and it will rank among the top three in the coming years.
Country and counties creating a difference were awarded at the end of the 2013 EMITT Fair.
The 2013 EMITT Fair saw the participation of 67 countries, 10 tourism ministers, tourism ministry representatives of 42 countries and witnessed a record number of attendees, including tourism professionals, visitors and approximately one thousand of members of the press from Turkey and the world. The 2013 EMITT Fair ended with the traditional EMITT awards given to displays that add a colorful touch to the international organization.

In 2012 Turkey became the 6th most visited country in the world with nearly 30 million visitors, while the EMITT Fair, which plays an important role in the promotion of Turkey, took 5th place in the tourism fairs list, with the 128 thousand visitors it hosted in 2012. The East Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair (EMITT), which will be held for the 17th time between January 24 and 27 in TÜYAP, was created by Ekin Fuar in the 1990’s, now considered the infancy period of the Turkish tourism, and it started a new era in tourism fairs.
