One of the most important national days in Turkey, Republic Day is the commemoration of the proclamation of Turkish Republic on 29 October 1923. It is also a national day in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Republic Day is preceded by an intense period of preparations and celebrated nationwide with millions of enthusiastic citizens. Especially İstanbul becomes the scene for breathtaking sound and firework shows. Thus, 29 October is not only a national day, but also a series of enchanting ceremonies.

This year, 29th October is the 90th anniversary of the Turkish Republic. Again, just like the former year, the fireworks were the most attracting part of all other celebrations. Around 50.000 fireworks were released from 16 different points. Istabulites were all around the best spots to watch this incredible feast for the eyes.
