Once again, Akbank Sanat hosts different and exciting musicians of World Music on December. Jyotsna Srikanth, one of the leading masters of South India’s Carnatic music, will give the first concert on 7th December in accompany of two Indian percussionists who play traditional mridangam and khanjira instruments. Srikanth will take you to a soulful journey.

On 14th December, we are going to Sahara Desert and listen to Alhousseini Anivolla, the talented guitarist and vocalist of famous Desert Blues band Etran Finatawa from Nijer. With his new trio Anewal, Anivolla continues to explore the connection between traditional Tuareg music and American jazz. Mentioned with giant guitarists like Bill Frisell, John Scofield, French guitarist with Vietnamese origin, Nguyen Le, returns to his roots and come together with traditional instruments master and vocalist, Ngo Hong Quang, on 21st December for reflecting the beauty of Vietnamese music with a modern interpretation. The closing of the event will be done by one of the most important vocalists of the second generation of Buena Vista Social Club from Cuba:Luis Frank Frank who also played in Wim Wenders famous “Music from Cuba” film, will be accompanied by “the Queeen of Cuban piano”, Lazara Cachao Lopez. A Cuban wind will blow in Istanbul!
