The Osman Gazi Korusu is surrounded on all sides by residential neighbourhoods, an island of green between the districts of Ümraniye and Dudullu. The grove was planted in the 1970’s by the Ministry of Forestry. None of the mature trees found there today were propagated by nature. It was originally called the Göztepe State Forest and was initially managed as such, but eventually it was opened to the public to meet the recreational needs of the local people. There are three children’s playgrounds, two workout areas, two football fields and a tennis court in the park.
