Founded by the Sabancı Foundation in 1997, Sabancı University is Turkey’s first university without departments. Students entering the university do not chose a particular department in which to study but a program group from within one of the university’s three faculties – The Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, and The Faculty of Management. Throughout the first two years of study, students take many different kinds of courses from across the university.
Located far from the city center, all student needs can be met on campus. Among other facilities it has a performing arts center, a sports center, a health center, a supermarket, a cinema and facilities for student clubs to gather.
