The history of the Ahmet Fethi Paşa Yalı (or the Pink Yalı) – located between Üsküdar and Kuzguncuk, in the district of Paşalimanı – remains unclear. Exactly when and by whom it was constructed is unknown, but the oldest records regarding the residence go back to 1815. The Yalı is divided into a Harem (a place for family) and Selamlık (a place for guests) as was then common, and its frontal design and its general plan reflect a style typical of an Ottoman civil architect its day. With two floors, 18 rooms and 2 salons, it was restored to its current condition in 1973.
