Discover the old city of Bursa on a full-day sightseeing tour from Istanbul and explore the former capital of the Ottomans.
Located south of the Sea of Marmara, Bursa is Turkey’s 4th largest city and was the Ottoman capital from 1326 through 1365. Sometimes referred to as “Green Bursa” (“Yeşil Bursa”), it is settled on the leafy slopes of Mount Uludağ, while the Mediterranean climate makes for lush agrarian fields in the spring.
Following a pick-up from your Istanbul hotel, take the ferry across the Marmara Sea at Eskihisar and drive on to Bursa in the southern Marmara region.
During the day, you can visit the Ulu Cami (Grand Mosque) to admire the landmark of Ottoman architecture, and explore the old silk market in the covered bazaar. Shop for local produce, such as chestnuts, honey, olive oil, and soft Turkish Delight.
