The Historical Museum of Islamic Science and Technology (Turkish: İslam Bilim ve Teknoloji Tarihi Müzesi) is located in Gülhane within the old palace walls in a 3,500 square meter space by the former palace stables. Opened in 2008, it houses scientific works exhibited from across the Islamic world, particularly from the 8th through 16th centuries.

With rooms devoted to such subjects as Optics, Urban Planning, Military Science, Chemistry, Pharmacology and Astronomy it is possible to learn about scores of scientific findings, inventions and discoveries.
