Topkapı Palace Kitchens Exhibition Halls “MATBAH-I AMİRE” opened to visitors on September 23rd 2014.
The theme of the exhibitions consists of three sections, namely the 15th – 18th century Palace Kitchen, the 19th century Palace Kitchen and Helvahane. The exhibition supported by information boards, visual boards, interctive boards and samples of documents on the subject kept in the Palace Archive displays around 500 examples from works belonging to the Palace’s culinary culture.
The Topkapı Palace Kitchens Exhibition Halls reflect the Ottoman Palace Kitchen and culinary culture comprehensively and many pieces previously not exhibited came to daylight and can now be visited for the first time.
Taksim: The funicular railway inside Metro goes to Kabataş. This is a one-stop station. T1 Zeytinburnu via Kabataş: Get on the Kabataş tramline for Sultanahmet. The entrance to the Topkapi palace is at the end of the winding road past Ayasofya.
Atatürk Airport: Havataş shuttle services is in every half hour from the Airport. Also, you can take the M1 Aksaray – Havaalanı metro line for Sultanahmet. Take the Metro line from the Airport. Get off at the Zeytinburnu station to reach Eminönü via T1 Zeytinburnu – Kabataş tramline. Follow English instructions for the Sultanahmet stop.
Blue Mosque Area: Cross the Ayasofya Mosque and follow the winding road leading to the Palace entrance.
